5 checks before you buy a website template
Read the licence. Some templates allow one site only, some allow client work, and some forbid resale. If you build sites for customers, you need the right one.
Test it on a phone. Open the live demo on your own handset over mobile data, not just on a laptop. If it feels slow or cramped there, your customers will feel it too.
Look at the code quality. Clean, commented HTML and CSS is far easier to edit than a tangle of plugins. Ask what is included and whether updates are free.
Check how you will handle contact forms, payments and SEO. A template that looks good but cannot take an enquiry is only half a website.
Ask what support you get. A quick reply when something breaks is worth more than an extra page layout.
Our take: Every template we sell states its licence plainly, and we will help you set it up.
